Actor of the Day: Taniguchi Masashi
Today’s Actor of the Day is Taniguchi Masashi. An actor since 1999, Masashi made his acting debut on television. One year later, he made his debut on stage with the theatrical group KUBEZ. In 2009, Masashi made his presence known in Anime on Stage shows via his role as Akechi Mitsuhide in Sengoku BASARA. In 2016, he was cast as a main character in the Kamen Rider series, Takayama Jin. Despite an early start in the television and film industry, Masashi is usually occupied with stage productions. In the past few years, he’s acted in 11 stage productions per year. A little fun fact about his role in this production, Masashi once practised his swordsmanship and lines in the park. Some passers-by called the police on him. Now that he’s more involved in shows where he’s more likely to be swinging swords around, here’s to wishing him well on his acting career and on avoiding scaring unsuspecting passers-by.
