Actor of the Day: Ueda Keisuke
The first in our new series, Actor of the Day, which we’re hoping to release every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Today’s post is about the adorable Ueda Keisuke, or Uechan. Let’s all cheer for him!
Born September 5, 1989, currently 26 years old. Uechan is from Osaka, which goes a long way towards showing why he has such an easy smile and friendly personality. He was “discovered” through a great deal of talent and hard work in 2006, when he was a finalist in the 19th Junon Super Boy competition.
Anime on Stage / 2.5d Roles: Manmi Sangaku in Yowamushi Pedal Stage, Fallos in Persona 3 Stage, Yata Misaki in K: The Stage, Ishida Mitsunari in Sengoku Basara, Abe Masahiro in Harukanaru Toki no Naka de Saien.
Non-Anime Stage Roles: Many–notably, he has played Juliet in Romeo X Juliet—perhaps not surprising, given his angelic face!
Notable Features: Trademark teeth, characteristic fishy-face & peace sign in photographs, lovely large clear eyes!
Upcoming Roles: Manami Sangaku in “Yowamushi Pedal: Irregular,” Japan in “Hetalia the Musical: Singin’ in the World”
Hopefully we’ll get to hear him sing more soon in Hetalia. Apparently, he likes to sing at his handshake events, what a cutie! With his classic sense of humor and easy smile, we hope that Uechan will remain a fan favorite as he bursts onto the big time with Hetalia the Musical. Let’s all give him our support!
